BIG, mini-welcome!

We are thrilled to announce the first Miniaturists Convention to be organised and hosted in Gauteng from Monday 5th October 2026 - Friday 9th October 2026 at the NG Church in Randburg.

We have lined up very skilled presenters to offer a full week of learning opportunities. We hope that there will be a workshop that will appeal to you!

Please be advised that there is a Convention fee payable in order to attend the Gauteng Miniaturists Convention.
The Convention fee is dependent on how many workshops you are attending.
It covers the cost of the venue rental and the presenters' teaching fee.
A registration fee (portion of Convention fee) will be payable once we confirm availability in the workshop of your choice. With the balance payable by 1 September 2026.

The kit cost is separate, and payable directly to the presenters. Kit costs vary according to workshop content.

How the Miniaturists Convention will work

Joining us at this exciting event is very easy - just follow the steps below :

STEP 1

Please browse the list of workshops we have on offer during our convention period. Decide which ones you would like to attend (please pay attention to the kit fees which is NOT included in the convention fees).

STEP 2

Fill in the online booking form with your contact information and workshop selection.

STEP 3

We will check if there are still available slots in the workshops you selected.

STEP 4

You will receive an email from us with confirmation of availability or a request to make an alternative choice.

STEP 5

A registration fee is required to secure your booking. this should be paid within 48 hours of receipt of our email offering you a spot.

STEP 6

Once we have received your registration fee, we will send you confirmation of receipt of payment and that your booking has been successful.

Further informaton

For the first four days there will be morning sessions and afternoon sessions lasting 4 hours each.
On the fifth day there will only be a morning session.
3 workshop classes will be running concurrently.
Morning sessions start promptly at 9am.
Afternoon sessions start promptly at 13:35.
There is an hour break for lunch from 12:30 - 13:30.
There will be tea, coffee and biscuits/rusks available. Attendees will be required to supply their own lunches. We are unable to offer this service at this time.
Below are the details of the proposed workshops to be held during the Gauteng Miniaturists Convention period from the 5th October 2026 until the 9th October 2026.

The workshops will be in standard 1:12th scale unless otherwise indicated.
Workshops are open to anyone age 16 and up. These workshops are not suitable for young children due to the use of power tools and sharp implements.
There is accommodation available in the area.

Venue

The NG Church in Randburg on the corner of Dover Street and Vine Avenue, has been selected as our venue. It is a peaceful area, with secure parking.
